RCT
is an irreplaceable tool for the observation of construction details in
historical buildings. Such was the case of the Yacht Club Argentino
in Buenos Aires harbor, a job commissioned by Civil Eng. Juan M. Cardoni
to look into one of the first examples of reinforced concrete structures
in Argentina (ca. 1910). The examples shown here testify of the way
stirrups used to be laid in those early years or of the improper placing of
reinforcement in a beam. |

The
unusual height of the reinforcement in this beam, as revealed by RCT,
explained the strong vibrations observed in the floor above.
